There once was a man who owned a field where many Ents lived. They were regal tree creatures, but needy too. 

"Did you see our leaves?" asked the Ents.

"Leave me alone! I'm watching my stories!" said the man, without looking up from his Hisense 42" 1080p LED HDTV.

"Did you notice how long and thick are roots have grown?" asked the Ents. 

This time the man didn't answer. He just continued to watch his show in full 1080p high definition resolution.

The Ents were not happy. They held a meeting out in the field, and decided they had to address the issue head on. They went back to the man, who had not turned away from his television's 50,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio.

"We're tired of being ignored," said the Ents. "You have to decide. It's either that TV or us!"
