By Brooklyn: The notion of authenticity. We make it happen, we’re really real, and we have pride in ourselves and in our borough.

LS: Why shop local?

BB: There’s something to be said about shopping locally and all the great things that does for the neighborhood, for the economy. Everything’s just been made, everything’s really fresh. I’m inspired by our vendors here every single day. None of them are doing this because they have to. Nobody’s making pickles, jam, or soap because they have to. They really believe in it, and they really want to.

LS: What makes this a great present?

BB: The quintessential gift shop is the place where you want everything, but you probably wouldn’t buy everything for yourself. Anybody would be happy to get even one of these items, but we’ve taken it upon ourselves to take the best of the best and put them all together in one pretty package.
