British rock pioneers The Yardbirds play City Winery in New York. Founded in 1963, the Yardbirds were one of the first groups to bring blues sounds to the British rock 'n' roll scene, blending fiery guitar solos with unforgettable tunes including "For Your Love," "Heart Full of Soul", "I'm A Man", and "Over Under Sideways Down." They were a major influence on British R&B, psychedelic rock and heavy metal -- and launched the careers of ex-members Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck. Gifted New York blues-rock guitarist Dave Fields, who recently released his third album "Detonation", opens the show.
