The Jerome Robbins Theater at the Baryshnikov Arts Center

The acclaimed St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble is sure to blow audiences away with its performance of two virtuosic wind compositions. The first, in the Viennese tradition, is Mozart's Serenade No. 10, "Gran Partita." Written around 1781, the work famously appeared in the 1984 film "Amadeus", as the first time Salieri realizes the beauty and talent of the young upstart. "Whirlwind" also features 1953's Six Bagatelles for Wind Quartet by the contemporary Hungarian-Austrian composer György Ligeti, which was written in secret during World War II and adapted from his piano piece "Musica ricercata".
